The International Journal of Conformity Assessment
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Dear Editors,
I had the opportunity to review
the ar琀椀cle, “The Evolu琀椀on of
Quality Management in Laboratory
Services” (V. Mishra et al., IJCA,
Vol. 4). The ar琀椀cle clearly traces
the development of quality
management in laboratory services
and highlights key milestones,
including ISO standards, CLSI
guidelines, and regulatory
frameworks such as CLIA, which
form the founda琀椀on of modern
laboratory quality prac琀椀ces.
The discussion of the integra琀椀on
of quality control, total quality
management, and comprehensive
quality management systems
(QMS)—supported by automa琀椀on,
digital tools, and laboratory
informa琀椀on management
systems—is par琀椀cularly valuable
in illustra琀椀ng improvements in
reliability, turnaround 琀椀mes, and
opera琀椀onal performance. However,
the ar琀椀cle could bene昀椀t from a
more detailed examina琀椀on of the
prac琀椀cal challenges laboratories
face in implemen琀椀ng and sustaining
these systems, par琀椀cularly in
resource-limited se琀ngs.
While the authors e昀昀ec琀椀vely outline
core QMS components—such as
quality policy, document control,
audits, correc琀椀ve and preven琀椀ve
ac琀椀ons, training, equipment
maintenance, customer feedback,
and con琀椀nuous improvement—the
discussion would be strengthened
by including real-world examples
or case studies demonstra琀椀ng
how these elements are applied
in prac琀椀ce and how barriers to
compliance are addressed.
Overall, the ar琀椀cle emphasizes
the importance of sustained
commitment to QMS and
con琀椀nuous improvement in
mee琀椀ng evolving clinical, regulatory,
and pa琀椀ent-care demands.
Expanding on implementa琀椀on
challenges and measurable
outcomes would further enhance
its prac琀椀cal relevance for laboratory
professionals.
Thank you for publishing this ar琀椀cle
and for contribu琀椀ng to a broader
understanding of the role of QMS in
public health.

I had the opportunity to review the
ar琀椀cle “Evalua琀椀on of the Capability
of Genera琀椀ve AI to Interpret ISO/
IEC 17025” and would like to o昀昀er a
brief comment.
The study e昀昀ec琀椀vely illustrates
that genera琀椀ve AI systems may
arrive at similar conclusions
while relying on di昀昀erent lines
of reasoning. In regulatory and
accredita琀椀on contexts, this
dis琀椀nc琀椀on is par琀椀cularly signi昀椀cant,
as conclusions must be supported
by transparent, standards aligned
jus琀椀昀椀ca琀椀on to be defensible.
In this regard, the ar琀椀cle highlights
an important direc琀椀on for further
development. The personalized AI
approach exempli昀椀ed by L Squad
demonstrates how domain speci昀椀c
training and specializa琀椀on can
substan琀椀ally enhance the quality
and reliability of AI generated
responses. This focus on contextual
alignment outlines a promising
pathway for the responsible
applica琀椀on of genera琀椀ve AI
in technical and regulatory
environments.
Thank you for publishing this
contribu琀椀on. I look forward to
con琀椀nued research addressing
the role of specialized ar琀椀昀椀cial
intelligence in conformity
assessment and related 昀椀elds.

I would like to o昀昀er a brief
professional perspec琀椀ve on the
ar琀椀cle “Evalua琀椀on of the Capability
of Genera琀椀ve AI to Interpret and
Provide Guidance on the Applica琀椀on
of ISO/IEC 17025 Standard” by
Diego Uribe (IJCA, Vol. 4).
From the standpoint of an auditor,
the study underscores the value of
training genera琀椀ve AI systems using
well de昀椀ned criteria and expert
judgment. The results illustrate how
a purpose con昀椀gured model such
as L Squad can e昀昀ec琀椀vely support
auditors by iden琀椀fying risks and
opportuni琀椀es and by contribu琀椀ng
to process op琀椀miza琀椀on, while
clearly not replacing professional
exper琀椀se or decision making
responsibility.
The ar琀椀cle would be further
strengthened by extending the
evalua琀椀on to include a broader
set of ques琀椀ons or real world case
scenarios. Such expansion would
allow for a more comprehensive
assessment of AI’s prac琀椀cal u琀椀lity
as an audi琀椀ng support tool, while
reinforcing the principle that
human judgment remains central to
conformity assessment ac琀椀vi琀椀es.
Thank you for publishing research
that though琀昀ully addresses both
the poten琀椀al and the limita琀椀ons
of ar琀椀昀椀cial intelligence in technical
and accredita琀椀on contexts.
